Dopers suck

Because we suspect they do but know that Postal did?

THIS is the truly sad part of it all .... it is becoming more difficult by the day to admire a top sportsperson without "wondering" ....

THIS is the crux of this still ongoing roller coaster ... "rules of the time" AND "tests of the time" ....  Dont for one second think the current crowd is not ahead of the current rules and tests .... sadly this is BIG business ....

Who knows, I would not be surprised if this is the case for racing in Europe, but for the local mtb pro's not so much. A sophisticated doping regime that can beat the system requires lots of resources and specialist medical knowledge and I have seen nothing to suggest that our local riders have the resources & know-how to pull off something like that. Its usually amateur hour when it comes to the stuff they test positive for (the recent Lynette Burger using steroids in a training camp story jumps to mind). Which is why I'm far more inclined to believe YdV was negligent rather than part of some sophisticated "BIG business" doping plan.

You named your son EPO??

LOL i kid i kid, I love the bloke too.

I still say, if you have given every rider at the time the same PED's Lance was taking, he would still have won everything he did. I may be wrong, I may be right, but we will never know.

Dr Ferrari believed Lance could have won clean.

Don't need to read the whole article, Just the top bit in the block.

Ironically my main take away from reading that was what a piece of work Armstrong was. Trying to sabotage his own team leader's time trial? I suppose it's in keeping with the rest of his behavior. That dude just couldn't stand not being the alpha-male.

Yup, that's why he dominated.

Even in his podcast (which I enjoy) this still comes through. One senses that Hincappie is his doormat.

Yawn

All this Lance talk. My take? Cheat. Got what was coming. It doesn't remove how much I loved watching him ride.

Same as that Kazakh dude who won the olympics. The tour he road for T-mobile when he just attacked attacked attacked despite being covered in bandages doing his best impression of Arnold Vosloo in the Mummy.

Rasmussen was also super fun to watch.

Cheats the lot of them. Wouldn't trust them alone in my house with my family.

But it isn't a pre-requisite to be a decent person to be a brilliant sportser/entertainer.

What is medical science's position on this?

Drugs don't affect people equally so you cant draw a straight line backwards and compare.

That and we dont have a clue who took how much, what and when so any kind of dirty/clean comparison is purely emotional.

Vino!

I loved watching Ricardo Ricco when he and his team mate just ripped the whole peleton a new one.

Fun to watch but a bit like WWE :-)

Yip agreed. I think everyone that is close to him is his doormat, it might be the only way to survive in his orbit. I think he's a fearless and vindictive narcissist and anybody that challenges him in any way gets crushed or pushed out of his circle. Interesting dude for sure and a born winner, but not somebody I think I'd like all that much.

Released statements like that just pang of... 'we wrote this for when we got caught'.

There are far better and non banned HBP meds. It's always so convenient that the cyclist is caught taking banned meds for an illness/condition which has non banned meds but creates doubt..... It's like a clever doctor says 'if we dope and mask it with X, we can say we were taking X for this and BOOM!'

Said doctor can also create illegible scribbles of HBP in his file so there is a 'history'.

Super legit..... Not at all transparent.

Reckon that's what happened? Would be doubtful to that extent, unless in the background there are other concerns. What ped would have been masked then?

Additionally why the retroactive sanction, the lack of comment from CSA and SAIDS removal of her case from the site?  If we're going catch dopers and systematically combat doping programmes, then the system needs to be transparent.

Otherwise it's hypocritical to vilify athletes and place the ultimate penalty on the athlete when the balance of facts are not available. It gives the actual dopers leeway to circumvent the system, even if at least for a while.
