Finally finished my dogs kennel on the weekend. This was my first time working with corrugated sheeting and it can be seen as the roof needs to be fixed up a bit, but all in all I'm satisfied with the out come. Mostly made from 18mm plywood, 9mm Marine ply for the windows, reclaimed pine for the Floor bracing (76 x 76mm), roof bracing (76 x 76mm & 76 x 25mm) and patio railing (76 x 38mm & 76 x 50mm). All wood has been given two coats of waxsol. This thing is bloody heavy so had to be built in sections and then assembled at final resting place as it would require a forklift to be moved once complete.

Last few to show finished product and size comparison of the kennel itself. My two dogs, Alsatian and Ridgeback are more than happy as they dont have to bend to enter their new home.

Well done Scott, I love the fact that you can take the roof and walls off to clean it out.

I have a suggestion; the entrance will be chewed in time, all dogs for some reason chew on the entrance to their kennels if from wood (i don't know why). Clad it with a strip of aluminium or some of your checkered plate. Just a suggestion

Small suggestion: perhaps bend the edges of that corrugated sheeting, or add some sort of edging so no one accidentally slices their foreheads/faces open brushing up against it.

Mine lasted less than a week.....

After the little turning project for my hand grinder, I couldn't stop myself....

Had a few spare hours, an old tamper that a mate made me, some birch ply off-cuts and a piece of brass.

Laminated the birch ply and shaped the handle in the lathe. Finished it off with 600 water paper and three coats of clear lacquer.  Modified the existing 316 Stainless steel "industrial" tamper by turning down the knurled handle to 13mm dia by 30 long and tapped the end M6. The head was polished with 600 grit water paper. The brass screw was turned out of an old reclaimed brass bolt I found. Shank was machined to 6mm with an M6 tread cut onto the end and the head ended up at 16mm. Cut the slot with a Dremel and used a needle file to get it looking presentable and then buffed it.

All assembled and I was quite chuffed with the result. (Might try and find a nice piece of timber and redo the handle at a later stage. This was more about using stuff that was lying around)

I am really enjoying the woodworking and up cycling at the moment.
