With so many popping out I am suprised no one has ridden over one and got a puncture(or found enough to sell them in the classifieds).

Mine have never fallen out, I am constantly checking them though and touch wood never had issues.

I've had mine for about a year and never had any issues. *touch wood* Still there on my wife's bike too. Will obviously be checking them this afternoon after reading this.

I've picked up a few on the trails (the tools, not the punctures :whistling: )  and handed it out to my riding buddies who has lost theirs. I've picked up enough already to have enough to build myself a set or two.

I see CWC sell these for R 320.00. Dynaplug kit is around 55 US$ on the Dynaplug site.

I got one of these a few years back at about 100 rand. Am I missing a trick here?

I took mine out one day to fix a flat.  Went to the shop that afternoon.  I paid R50-00 for a kit like that.  They wanted R499 for the same kit.  I started laughing, took my credit card and walked out...  I am not stupid and I know that is not R25-00 to make, as they use cheap scrap from China...

Sure if you are OK with it looking a little bad, already gave the other one to a buddy. Everything works on it though, work being the operative word. Apparently Manny's Bike Mecca has Dynaplugs. Just let me know about how you want to get hold of it.

Can you post it to paarl or de doorns?

One of the hero to zero stories of mtb.

Looked awesome and was pretty innovative... Until you bought them.

Unless you tightened them to Hulk level they fell out.

Sometimes the little plastic threads broke.

Awesome idea - kaaak product.

Just bought one today, fit it in the handlebar once and I stripped the plastic threads on the one side, could not agree more with your last statement.

Happy with mine. Never fallen out. Maybe you guys aren't fitting it tight enough?

That was my opinion last year......now not so happy anymore. The one bar-end broke in half after a small fall and I lost the other one during a race????

Still like the idea though, perhaps alu is the answer?

I had something very bizarre happen with these things. Went for a ride, half way through the ride I saw that one had fallen out. Then I encountered another dude who had picked it up, was very happy. When I got home I took them both out to try and secure them better and realized that I now had two pluggers and no reamer.

What are the chances? Obviously the dude found someone else's plugger, really strange coincidence. Also where I ride is not at all crowded, the mountain reserve in Rustenburg, on a 50km ride maybe see 4-5 other riders most days.

I've had these a few times in my basket, but never pulled the trigger due to cost and priorities of other bicycle related purchases. After reading this, I'm glad I didn't buy it

That is what I thought, the threads must be alu and the part that touches the inside of the handlebar must be more grippy like rubber perhaps. Will cost more but at least it will work. It is still a great idea.

Can I still take you up on the offer for the reamer?

I should have listened to the warnings before buying them...

First ride and one of them fell out, fortunately I found it though.

Im going to stick a section of roadie tube over them to see if it will make it fit better, but first impressions are not good.
