Awesome stuff. Well flippen done

.. but can someone tell those other two that that isn't the finish line

They can do what they like, perhaps they were given the freedom of Wellington!

Such an awesome and inspiring event... love that it brings a whole new host of 'heroes' to the fore. Heroes I know I can relate to a lot more than than many of the pro whippets out there.

When I grow up and HTFU I want to be Mike Woolnough   :D

Bloody legends the lot of them

Would love to do this, even have my strat all worked out - but not sure there is enough cement on the planet.

My Comrades, TB and joBerg2c medals wouldn't dare venture out the shadows into the presence of a magical Munga medal

We're getting to that uncomfortable statistic that roughly 50% of the field dropped out. What a tough event this is turning out to be!

Well it's self titled as the "toughest race on earth". Amongst some really silly competition the finish rate is a bit high to be accurate (I'm thinking barkley marathon FTW).

GM in!

Keep on thinking mr Minn has changed his off season training schedule, drastically!

well done to all our finishers, and starters who could not complete the race this year. I feel the accomplishment for our finishers, and the frustration and disappointment for the unsuccessful riders. well done on this innovative race to the organisers.

And her hubby wasn't even there to welcome her in???

not sure where we start with this comment, short of just quoting #epicfailbuddy

I think the Munga has shown it has legs long term - from a spectator point of view it needs better reporting/feedback/news. I think they've just left it to the trackers to tell the story with the odd picture album/tweet to fill us in.

Can go one of two ways for me:

 - remain as is, in current format - it will be a slugfest with the semi pro/enthusiast riders going for it.

 - B (funding conditional) - could return to the million dollar shootout format. I don't think that the marathon pros will ever go for it as it's out of season and just too bloody hot.

A combination of both would be interesting, the Hein Vissers of the pack would still be in with a shout and it would be fun watching sponsored pros exploding in the dust halfway through after burning all their matches early.

Can you still remember what the entry fee was when they had the 1mil dollar price money on the table ?

SW posted on Facebook with 200-odd Km to go, that if he wasn't doing it for a charity, he would have bailed long time ago (loose sand, corrugations, heat, head winds, and and and).

Kudos to all the finishers - something I'd never consider doing
