BikeisLife Posted December 31, 2020 Share Spez outv cash after their burglary? Can't see why they wouldn't hang onto Simon and Alan???As far as I know, it’s the riders jumping ship for other reasons other than money. Sydd and RossW
RossW Posted December 31, 2020 Share yeah he posted before Christmas he was leaving.Word on the street is he's heading to Cannondale Factory Racing likely being joined by Simon Andreasen.Looks Like Manny will hang up the XCO bike after Tokyo ( so basically 2021 season) (was supposed to be 2020 but COVID)Just wondering why no one's linking TREK to them since TREK doesn't seem to have a very strong Men's XCO line up. Its only Anton Cooper and Stephane Tempier with Neff and Richards on the Ladies side. That will be an interesting move and will make for some exciting racing from the CFR boys. It would also make for a 4 men’s team seeing that Manny will likely leave mid to end of season. Has it been confirmed that Batty will be riding for her husbands yet to be announced team; or am I late on that?
DieselnDust Posted December 31, 2020 Share Confirmations will only happen from tomorrow since they're all contracted till midnight 31st December.other than very strong rumours linking Alan to CFR the rest is speculation.riders that have announced they are leaving their current teams.Alan Hatherley leaving SpecializedSimon Andreasen leaving Specialized.Maxime Marotte leaving CFRPauline Ferrand Prevot leaving Canyon SRAMEmily Batty leaving Trek Factory Racing.Annika Langvad retiring from XCO (Potentially a spot for Pauline) UpdateBarbara Benko leaving Ghost. Strange move letting them go, unless they've lined up other signings. Getting Florian Vogel on board as team manager is a good move. babse Posted January 1, 2021 Share if you read between the lines, John alluded to them moving on months ago already, burglary only happened 2 weeks ago?Should've put that in italics... I'm sure they made enough doosh off their push bikes to fund their salaries. DieselnDust and JohanDiv
DieselnDust Posted January 1, 2021 Share Should've put that in italics... I'm sure they made enough doosh off their push bikes to fund their salaries. but something is definitely amiss.. Three riders out and not a lot of talent out of contract to fill the void.Tpom Pidcock also jumped ship to INEOS so he's no longer Specialized babse and RossW

But yes I agree, with the recent performances from Alan and Simon I can't see why they wouldn't have wanted to keep them both on board. Jewbacca Posted January 2, 2021 Share Maybe they are letting go of all their international talent and MAGA.... Or they want to stop selling so many Epics and will concentrate their efforts on DH and EWS. Either way, jokes aside, I'm 100% sure that company has a plan far beyond a simple 'contract slip up'. stringbean Posted January 3, 2021 Share I’m fascinated by how many hubbers out there really think things will go on as normal.if you are at management level or high up on corporate ladder you will know that everyone is in survival mode.Sponsorships and advertising are the first to go.It’s difficult to justify retrenchment when you sponsoring a cycling team or events. In these days if your job relies on advertising or sponsorship make sure you have a plan B.If you young and looking at a career choice, don’t choose cycling.Sorry if it all seems a bit negative.Forget about racing and forget about races.Multiple event organisers won’t make 2021.Go ride with your mates and enjoy. The number 1 priority should be to focus and try secure your current job if you have one. This will be with us until at least 2022. This is very true and Specialized is the most exposed company of all since they supply many teams with bikes at factory deals. There's also a management shift at the MTB team so perhaps this is just the interim step required to build up again.
