It's a bit of a thing... I can wear my running socks to cycle in, but very seldom can one wear cycling socks to run in.

Diversification of business makes sense. And if you see how many runners use their socks it makes sense to offer running specific ones.

 

However I fear we may see more short socks and (heaven forbid) secret socks being made in the future for the people who like to punish themselves by running

Shimano has been producing bicycle parts as long as I can remember, alongside campagnolo.

I think their fishing industry took off not too long after. They also made golf clubs and some other stuff!

Have cycled in my injinji ankle length toe socks comfortably, but certainly don't run in the few pairs of cycling socks I own.
