gtr1 Posted May 29, 2018 Share That's how it is being marketed and all the talk to take out the Steyn City climb when riders are tired and hot. All the major climbing happens in 1st half when riders fresh. Lots of downhill to recover before big sprint at finish. Which will make the last few small climbs much easier. Those first few climbs is going to split up the groups and it will just be small groups all the way. I don't climb well and could always hang on with VA or racing tandems till at least witkoppen or cedar. Now I reckon I will still be dropped at a similar spot . People getting a feel for the new route already.They should really focus on the climb on Jan Smuts from Conrad drive to Hyde Park corner.... that one coming after the climb from witkoppen to the top of Bryanston will be interesting for the slower riders...
