Got to love the spec sheet experts who can tell how a bike rides just by looking at numbers.

I much prefer to test ride a bike before saying much about it.

I have ridden bikes with higher bb's that felt better than long low slack bikes on my trails, and vice versa.

At the end of the day the bike is an extension of the rider and only the rider can determine if said bike ticks all the boxes.

That said, I like the Ultra. Many features of the design are appealing and none of those involve geometry

If you've ridden enough bikes and pay attention to variations in geometry, it gives you a pretty good idea what to expect from just looking at numbers.

Agree whole heartedly that geo sheets cannot predict how a bike will ride, but it can in theory give you a good idea... I've made the mistake of buying a bike purely from geo sheets. The way I see it is that a geo sheet is a good place to start, narrow down options, then test ride 2 or 3 bikes instead of 10.

Maybe,.... maybe not . Geometry charts don't give you and idea how the frame twists under load at the head tube, the BB or the chainstays.

It doesn't tell you that a 113cm wheel base will feel more nippy or less nippy than a 115cm wheelbase because you need to consider the axle path and where the wheel is in travel relative to the front.

those are aspects that can only be determined by riding and feeling.

Geo chart is great to gauge what you need to consider when fitting yourself to a bike.

It does not tell what the geometry  of the bike is under load nor how it's going to ride with a human being on it. Its also not going to give you an indication of how said bike will perform relative to a bike from a different manufacturer
