I have noticed no drop in performance since I stopped using supplements. My recovery is also still the same.

I am starting to see these things as snake oil, and pay little heed to the marketing blurb.

Hallelujah brother! I've only ever used 'recovery' at multi day events and am not even sure it made any difference ... The fitter I am the less recovery issues I seem to have

Why is everyone recommending Steri-Stumpie?!

A single 350ml serving gives you a lovely 31g of sugar (carbs), 4,4g of saturated fat, 33mg of cholesterol,  and 171mg of sodium. All with some lovely artificial colourants, flavourants and stabilizers.

Hi gents

I work on construction and actually busy with the new building in sandton the leonardo.i walk bout 80 floors a day.my legs are so f$$k every day and when i try to cycle on weekend i battle, they are pap.any really good recovery drink or something i can eat to help recover alot faster?

ask to use the overhead crane. that's if it is still onsite, a subbie mentioned that it might be away when they need it

the best is to have a low GI breakfast (oats work well) and have during the day meals to keep energy levels at the right level.

Def stretch alot

I hate to also walk up the stairs on sites, im fit but those freaking stairs kill me even after 3 levels up

Your body will adapt within a couple of weeks. Hopefully you then start working on a bigger building with more floors. Otherwise you just going to lose all them gainz

Eat your spinach - alkalinity helps reduce muscle soreness.

And then just smile and picture the beast calves you're building

Same here, in my mind supplements are BS. Never experienced any gains or losses (apart from money) from it.

My recovery/post training drink is a smoothie with 1 cup double cream yogurt, handful of almonds, scoop of flaxseeds, 1x banana, 1 cup of milk and whatever berries is in the fridge.

Followed by coffee of course.

Oats is only Low GI if it is the Rolled oats or the oat bran variety of oats. The regular Jungle oats is intermediate at best.

It is however better than a slice of toast.

How much protein, carbs and fats are you eating in a day? How much water and other fluids?

If you want to recover better, you need to eat better (more accurately, not healthier per se) - i.e. get enough protein. Plenty of info on the internet regarding your recommended daily macro (carb, fat, protein) breakdown. Get yourself some good whey protein if you are struggling to meet your protein goals. Adequate stretching, foam rolling and enough sleep will help.
