YES, in many cases a 2x or even a 3x can be converted to a 1x. With the Trek Fuel EX5 bike the front blades were removed and a 1x blade was bolted on. Some kind Hubbers were (not so) diplomatic in pointing out this looked cr@p .... but hey, this is what some of these conversions look like ... the fun starts if this simple approach leaves you with a blade that is off set to one side .... with any luck it is a matter of spacers to resolve the issue

Eldron Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 Sure looks interesting !Check out the M2 - it looks a lot like an older XT ring. Very pretty. Could be a fine solution for the 3 to 1 converters...
