Cable kits cost in the region from R180 for cheap crappy coated cables with crappy housing to R600 for low friction liner and polished cable with solid housing stops.

I'm not talking about just cables. BTW, R40 cables have to replaced very ften because of the corrosion that spoils the fun.

I replace cables once every 120hours of riding, same time the bike goes in for suspension service. The cables I remove are pretty dirty and the housing ends have started to fray and get blocked with rust.

Some people are happy if they bike just works, others want it to work with precision and feel like its well maintained

Money is clearly no object for you. Ive never paid R600 for a cable set and I never will - Shimano outer can be had by the meter and an inner Is R30. Madness.

Exactly... Ive only ever used these and ive never had an issue with rust or anything for that matter. And replacing that often is pointless. Maybe once a year, put some lube down the new housing before the inner and theyre smooth all year.

Sooooo CWC, how about an upgrade kit for those that previously purchased the Eagle upgrade kit?  What's the cost to make my current Eagle wireless?

Assume that would include the AXS derailleur, shifter and charger.

Individual parts will only be for sale later this year. Untill then, only full AXS groupsets for sale. I would love to see the individual part pricing though...I only need the derailleur, shifter and charger for my GX group...

What I'd really love to see is GX spec AXS, in similar vain to the Force AXS that was released yesterday

I wonder how long before a prankster does a race with a signal jammer in his bacpack or saddle bag. Or stands on the roadside next to Suikerbossie..

AES encrypted.

Pretty tricky from what I understand from the engineers around me.

R100/m for the silicone grease lined SP5 outer and if you're paying R30 per cable I guess you get them at K.Aklekkers?Std coated green cable is R105-00 and the XTR cable is R175ea.

You do the math.

If you dress your bike up with lucky packet parts don't expect more than lucky packet performance

Besides, if you're snup as you claim why are even riding gears bru???

You live in Pretoria, Even Toyota's don't rust there. I live right next to a biiiiiig salty dam called False Bay

Are we pointing and laughing at people with Campy SR EPS too now? Or how about Dura Ace Di2, even that is R50k

think it's acceptable to point and laugh at Shimano spends, Campy however is never money wasted.

I just bought a very capable trail bike for R25K. This includes the upgrades (Saint flat pedals, grips, better rotors etc.). I saved R7K!

R32K for a drivetrain is insanity. Unless you can afford it of course, in which case I say good for you. Or if you are a pro, and have a mechanic who handles everything for you (setup, maintenance and so forth).

I'll stick with cables and stuff, keeping my bike fully field serviceable and independent from electronics.
