Watched the race. He just rode away from them from the very beginning. Didn't even see him look back ONCE. Interesting that the lap times slowed down each time, but his lead kept growing.

Such is the power of MvdP. I cannot wait for the Olympics.

Just checking, we like VdP right?

I admire his talent. I wouldn't go as far as saying I like him but I don't have any reason to not like him(the day he eats the pigeon pie gives me a reason). I kinda thought he was going to win but was rooting for WvA(I have liked Wout ever since the video he made all dressed up as an old man) and when TP attacked I was hoping he would catch him.

Happy for Tom, getting a 2nd is a big achievement when he could have easily and probably won the U23 but prefers to give it a go in the elites!!

This whole season he has been racing with the Elites, generally top 10, top 5 and a few podiums, a really amazing achievement. Compare to all the Americans who come across to race in Europe, Top 20 if they are lucky.

I have really been enjoying the Trinity Racin channel on the tube.

He won the junior PR as well, bronze at the U23 road worlds last year, I think we can expect to see a lot of him in the future. Tough and talented.

When he goes, no one catches him. For now at least. He only got beaten once in cross in the last few years, that was by Toon and he was having a serious off day after training block.  The only guy he has struggled to beat was Nino Shurt, but he has that sorted now and I predict he will take Gold at the 2020 mtb,.

The fact that he can switch disciplines (and win) makes him exceptional. But I think he still has his feet on the ground, works exceptionally hard, and knows how to enjoy life,.

Would be quite boring if everybody liked the same riders wouldn't it?

I doubt your "we" encompasses the entire BikeHub.

As for myself, I like the guy for his racing attitude and abilities, mixing it up with the best in 3 different disciplines.

But I like WvA more, can't explain why though...
