Hamstring Posted June 4, 2019 Share Rocky Mountain but if you can get the orange and black, that one looks specs are good too. jck81
DieselnDust Posted June 4, 2019 Share the Yeti would have been my favourite if not for the creaking infinity switch unit that they have subsequently revised during production several times. The end result is a much less stiff rear end. https://flowmountainbike.com/tests/tested-yeti-sb100-bike-loved/

Christie Posted June 4, 2019 Share I like the Rocky Element. The ride9 system is cool.Canyons also look nice, but availability seems to be an issue. Edited June 4, 2019 by Christie Hamstring
Eugéne Alberts Posted June 4, 2019 Share such a personal question: rocky mountain might tick boxes. but obviously if you want left field, how can it not be cannondale? As far as I know rocky mountain left the field as well
ians H2Sport Posted June 4, 2019 Share Pyga Stage is brilliant. Talk to them about the new local carbon frame manufacture process - cutting edge stuff. Traveler
ians H2Sport Posted June 4, 2019 Share Pity LaPierre is no longer supported in SA.There is support in Durban, through Over The Bars Cycles. As far as I know the same crowd still own Lapierre in SA. I have two of their bikes and have had no issues (apart from a lengthy delay in getting a new hanger).
GiantTjop Posted June 4, 2019 Share Kross Earth, Santa Cruz Blur, Anthem Adv, - value for money (still lesser spotted) would obviously be the Anthem. Blur is a dream to look at, Kross is brand new and looks sick!

DieselnDust Posted June 4, 2019 Share Ithink we're all missing the point. If its left field it has to have a Lefty Ocho. So Cannondale Scalpel si carbon Team, or 1 for the win Traveler and Prince Albert Cycles
Traveler Posted June 4, 2019 Share Rocky Mountain was an option until seeing the amount of rear side to side triangle flex the Element has. Do not know if it was intended to be as stiff as a boiled noodle. If 120mm of travel is an option, then Evil the Following. https://www.evil-bikes.com/products/following-mb

RocknRolla Posted June 4, 2019 Share on-one inbred. has served me well in all forms of SA MTB'ng other than #enduro and DH. Sometimes with mutliple gears, sometimes with only one. As you can see from the multitude of varied responses, get what tickles your fancy, usually if it has two wheels, you can't really go wrong.
