I think this start from grandparade is ok  - there will never be a perfect scenario.

if the racing bunch can't hold their horses after 150m that says more about local racing scene than the course itself.

Maybe its not the locals...

And get 1c for every R100 spent at you beloved PnP

Jip...but once you have 30 rands...you can purchase a 80 rand movie ticket...not to shabby...and I think it's 1rondt per 100 rondt..????

So ARGUS hype is here...I can feel the excitement tingling (or is that my hammies after this morning's emergency ARGUS spinning session). We've talked about the pre-race formalities but what do you okes and ladies do after the race and after the cold ones at hospitality? Weather permit we usually head down to the beach for a late Sunday afternoon swim or drive out to Blue Peter for MORE cold ones...

Man, I can't wait!

I have a full schedule of socialising with mates lined up. On the eve of the "race" we are staying with a friend up the road from the start. Quick roll down, but the hill back up after the ride will be a challenge.

then it's more socialising before heading back to JHB on tuesday.

May drive out to Her_anus on monday to visit some exiles there.

Me, I go straight home, jump in the jacuzzi and have a few cold one's, while the braai fire is getting ready for that much needed protein replenishment meal.

head straight out to the car (although last year and this year I'll drop my bike off at the transport company first)

head back to fish hoek where there is normally a good lunch waiting for me, before eating I'll go take a quick dip in teh ocean, eat then sleep.

I'm normally to tired and sore to do anything else.

Normally we finish as a family and then head straight for the car and then hit muizenberg for a leka cold dip. This year will be different as my father in law is starting an hour behind me and my wife is out of action, so will be making use of the SAICA hospitality tent while waiting for the ballie to finish!
