whatever happened to the good old t-shirt you were wearing the day before when painting the house?

What if you painted the house in old flannel?!  :ph34r:

I've been wanting to make one for a while now... just never got round to it. I do enjoy the Indola one, but think we can up the performance side of the item while still keeping the aesthetic on point

Schwe schwe is around R66 p/m and 90cm wide. 100% cotton

Wax prints R34 to 39 p/m. About 110cm wide and 100% cotton

Fake schwe schwe is R75 p/m. 150cm and poly cotton blend.

 

My check flannel is all sold out

so considering my tailoring skills are non-existent ... how much fabric would one use for a shirt and what could one expect to pay someone for labour

 

I rather like the idea of a tailored shirt .... usually the shirts that fit my "body" nicely are way too tight on the shoulders and arms, then when I get the shoulder and arm fit right the rest of the fit is too baggy.

Not sure what a seamstress would charge. Could be anywhere from R200 upwards of R600.

 

For a large or xL shirt you will need 3 to 4 meters of the narrow 90cm wide fabric and of the 150cm wide about 1.5m.
