If they have ambitions to create a "tour down under" type uci event then this is one way to do it. Its cheaper than the Tour of Good Hope was listed at before entry discounts were applied to attract entrants. No one seems to be bothered anymore, i challenge anyone to try and recall how many of the 3 GTs and WChamps were won on disc brakes this year without googling. Think you are right .... just a copy and paste error .... from an old rule-book UCI allowed disc brakes since 2018, and CSA have allowed it too ... 3.4.6 Disc brakes are allowed in road race and time trial training and competition.
