Watch the full race, and then scrub the timeline. 
In all honesty, not much happens until about 10-15Km out.

The Tour started Friday, so today is a rest day.

GCN+ Race TV refuses to broadcast TDF through a VPN all of a sudden. I've tried FRENCH, BELGUIM and UK, and it keeps telling me Subscribe to Watch, but I know for a fact I've renewed my sub.

All's good my side. Perhaps try a different browser/incognito/clearing cache.

i remember having and issue with the order of events being and issue having to close browser, set up VPN, open browser then connect. that's not the case now though.

weird.. computers do what you tell them to do, not what you want them to do

You are obviously correct .... but fighting with a VPN is not my idea of "fun" ....

 

Once you have paid your GCN+ (or similar streaming) subscription it should not have to be a technological battle to get to watch what you paid for .....

you're right! have the same issue on my phone. Seems that the VPN connection gets over ridden by something.

Once you have paid your GCN+ (or similar streaming) subscription it should not have to be a technological battle to get to watch what you paid for .....

you'll need to take that up with Multichoice. sadly. a VPN-wrestle is a small price to pay to not have to deal with them

perhaps they're clamping down, just like Netflix/Showmax (it can detect a VPN).

It will probably get worse as dstv keeps loosing clients ....

some routers can do the VPN-thing. and perhaps that's what you need? then again, showmax will kick you into touch... you can't win 'em all

Not sure if the Competition Commission can be involved. Multichoice are a monopoly, and GCN is not a local company, so not sure if Multichoice are breaching any fairness points by abusing their powers as a monopoly. It’s been a while since I had refresher training on the matter (competition commission).

Maybe just report it to the competition commission and let them figure out if dstv is overstepping ....

if anyone is looking for a good VPN - i use NordVPN.

they have excellent backup if you are struggling - they even helped me load the VPN onto my router.

very effective people there

There is a big problem in SA regarding Cycling and F1 broadcasts, not normal that you have to use a VPN to use another provider than DSTV… For some reason motorbikes racing still works through official videopass without a VPN though..

I wouldn’t recommend setting up you VPN in your router though, you might experience lags or issues using some services like Google search as they will see you as a bot and throw you multiple captchas. I only login on NordVPN on my phone or computer when I need it, then stream on the AppleTV
