“Just screenshot that, use it as your screensaver; you’ve got the best in cycling right there” ~ Carlton Kirby

Some serious royalty right there. 4 different teams, 4 different bikes, 4 different body types. 4 different riding styles(well kinda). Good to see such a nice mix. The grand tours this year are going to be brilliant. You have 4 guys there that could easily win one of the jerseys. Just a pity 2 of them won't really be "officially" going for a jersey.

EDIT: Well not just the grand tours. Those 4 are topping the classics podiums as well.

I was watching Paris Nice on DSTV which is cancelled end of this month - The commentator just ruins the race.  Nothing wrong, just so dull and uninspired.

Switch to GCN and never tuned back into Paris Nice.

The GCN/eurosport commentary was amusing and even the odd blunder is better than a guy putting me to sleep.

My favourite chirp and I'm too lazy to accurately quote it was Carlton Kirby saying the guy who came 5th might as well claim that as his first pro victory because the first 4 don't count as they are in a different league

Uninspired commentary turns off non cyclists as well as fans

Nice to see Geraint Thomas there too.

Indeed, I wonder whether Alaphalippe thanked him for the early lead out

G seems on track to do a good TdF. As long as he can stay upright he has as good a chance as any other rider to win the Tour.

It was also nice to see "new" stars like Sivakov and Almeida riding so well yesterday.

 Very cool

SCENE: ‘Bicycle Boyz of Belgium’ WhatsApp group chat.

O. Naesen: Tomorrow’s gonna be a snooze. Want to get the boyz together?

J. Stuyven: YES

V. Campenaerts:

T. De Gendt: I don’t make the breakaway, I AM the breakaway.

E. Theuns: I’ll come, but only if you don’t invite Dylan.

D. Teuns: Bro, I’m right here.

Y. Lampaert: Brb looking at tractors.

[D. Teuns has left the group]

E. Theuns:

O. Naesen: Sounds like we’ve got a crew. Just move to the front and hit it at 70 km left?

P. Gilbert: Don’t you think that’d be a bit obvious?

V. Campenaerts: 11 Belgians, all friends, just spontaneously riding away from the peloton in unison?

P. Gilbert: Uh, yep.

J. Stuyven: There’s no way that they can prove it was planned.

O. Naesen: Nah it’s cool. It’s totally plausible that we’d all just drop the hammer at the exact same moment, on an otherwise boring-as-batshit day of Paris-Nice.

T. Declercq:

D. De Bondt: Enough with the wolfpack **** already, my dude.

T. De Gendt: g2g soigneur’s here. See you at 70 km.

V. Campenaerts: Yeah the boyz.

"Every time that Mathieu van der Poel, Wout van Aert and Julian Alaphilippe have all been in a road race together, one of them has won it."

Surely, surely... this trend can not continue through to the end of Tirreno Adriatico...?

I actually played a very similar conversation through my head when I watched it yesterday! hahahahaha
