Punctuation and grammar are important. Particularly if you are trying to garner support.

Bought and paid for a new bike only to discover the bike doesn't actually exist, they will build it up with a frame and parts from other bikes.

WTF?????

Don't understand the problem to be honest. Are all bikes not built up from parts? Who cares if it comes of a shelf or off another bike? WTF?? as you said.

As long as the parts are new and carry the same warranty what is the issue? Had they said nothing you would have been none the wiser.

Good lord I don't get all these snowflakes.

AND NO I HAVE NO SKIN IN THE GAME, DONT KNOW THEM AND ONLY PURCHACED ONE ITEM INSTORE PASSING THROUGH.

Facepalm!!

Harryn are you a teacher? If so then i understand why you comment like that, Spelling might not be perfect i was typing it out of frustration. All the other hubbers understand what i was saying. Maybe see a eye specialist before commenting?

You still need to check punctuation and grammar though.

Hat, Coat, Door.

No. I am not a teacher.

Take your complaint to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud. The ombud has just been given some serious teeth by Pretoria High Court. I think they are itching to test the new bite.

Lodge your complaint here ———->>

https://www.cgso.org.za/

Think it through and write intelligibly, setting out bullet pointed facts briefly, and in chronological order. And do not expect the ombud to have expert technical knowledge of the product you are complaining about. They will not know a derailleur from a shifter. So explain all that like they are 2 years old.

Report back here. I think your prospects of success are good.

My experience with Bike Addict is also very bad.

During may/june of last year I wanted to buy a new bike for my wife after the last one had been stolen. I was going to purchase a BIG.NINE 500 for her at the price of 10500 or 10900 at the time on bike addict.

I emailed them a few times back and forth with regards to availability and frame sizes and once I was happy I asked them to send one my way.

Once I recieved the quote from them I was surprised to see the price had jumped to 12500. This is after we had discussed in length about my budget being in the 10K region. Apparently the price wasn't a mistake.

Thanks to a little computer know how and a bit of Google fu I looked up the webpage for the bike on bike addict site using Google cache and they changed the price the night before they sent me the quote.

After a strongly worded email to them they agreed to sell me the bike for the original price. When I then expressed my interest to buy it they then suddenly had a stock issue. I've still got all the proof in my emails.

Anyways don't bother with Bike Addict is all I can say.

Robbie YES there are too many bad replies about BikeAddict.

BUT, there are the odd good feedback as well.  Clearly they are "not all bad" ....

Personally I have only supported them "in-store".  MAKE SURE of stock levels before driving through !!!  I have had some GOOD service there, and some "lack-luster" experiences ....

Robbie if the maths add up, arrange for them to get the stock in-store, drive through, check it out, buy a few more items you dont need, then go accross the road (actually next block), and go enjoy

Cherry Lane Coffee House and Deli ....

PS - I used to take my Jetta to VW Malmesbury for its services.  BikeAddict is across the road ... so had the opportunity to just "experience" the shop on a couple of occasions.  Also have driven there more than once to go pick up stuff.

I don't know about that. I spent a bit of time working in Malmesbury a fair few years back, so my info is very outdated, but Barry's beef and barrel was the ONLY place to go get some chow.

Local guy bought an expensive ebike from them online . Bike arrived without the manual without the charger and the dropper post was not connected to the cable.

Not that it's worth much but a mate of mine bought a Scott Speedster 30 from them - he had no complaints about the service.
