This will probably be the fastest Tour to date (for the winner's time).
It's already faster than any previous Tour, with all major mountains behind them.
Least number of finishers in 16 years (as things stand today, but not % of starters).
It's the shortest Tour in 20 years.

A lot more tail winds this year and absolutely no transition/easy day. This Tour has been full gas!

The last 3 TDFs have absolutely convinced me to get there, rent a van, load the bikes and spend 2 weeks in France, cycling mountain passes, eating croissants and smashing bottles of Jean Foillard Cote du Py all night.  2023 it is on the cards for sure. I have never even owned a road bike but I love watching the Tours and Classics.

Pro Roadies are a gift to this earth. truly.

Just do it. Just do it. Just do it.

I have just done exactly that. Hired a van, loaded three bikes and spent a week riding and following TDF. Saw all the riders,  hurled encouragement until I lost my voice on Alp de Huez, shivered on the top of Col de Galibier, enjoyed and marveled the ride up and down col de croix der fer- what a beautiful ride. The atmosphere and the cycling culture is something to experience. And yes we had croissants and coffee for breakfast in little villages on our rides. Magic.

Just do it

Nope,bad manners..

Agree, very bad manners from Pog for not waiting until Jonas finishes talking with the most important people in his life.. (Said TIC)

Seriously though, I don't see an issue with it either way.

-Yes, Pog could have waited till the call finishes.
-Yes, Jonas could put the phone down completely to accept the congratulations.

But, have we heard of either one of these two that the actions of the other one was rude/offensive? If not, why make a fuss about it? 😕

Will 'The Green Monster' (as Wout is named in his team environment) allow the break to get away? This is the last chance for teams that have not registered a win to make it count.

Weather forecast is a sunny 32 with a WNW crosswind.

I heard Gee mention "surviving the crosswinds" that are expected today. 🤔

Are we in for one final surprise? DQS can hammer it for the stage win and someone can gain minutes on GC as a result if this does transpire.

If things stay on trend, Wout will be initiating the break.

Realistically though, for him, Ganna, Kung and many of the regular 'flat stage' breakaway regulars, there is the case of winning the ITT tomorrow, so we might see a few different faces initiate the racing today.

Went to Windy to see what the weather prediction looks like... I don't think the risk is 0%, but the wind speed seems to be just that little bit too low to really light things up? 20km/h sounds like the threshold for some crosswind stress.

Good assessment @Jewbacca It will be another Ganna-Wout-Lampaerts battle. It'll be very interesting after the suprize victory (even though conditions favoured the later starters in Copenhagen) after the 'Stepper stole top spot.

Wout should step off the gas a bit today, not that he know how to do that 🙈, to be rested for the TT.

It is Wout we are talking about here... there is a fair chance that he can win Stage 19, 20 and 21 at this rate....

(The last rider to win more than 2 stages on the trot... he who shall not be named...)
