Watching the in-car interview confirmed Rigoberto as my favourite WT rider... seeing him exit is sad news. as is the exit of all the other riders, but especially Rigo...

Who?

Remco or the author??

Quote

Appearing on the Slovenian podcast SOS-echoes, director of the Slovenian national team Martin Hvastija didn’t hold back when asked about Remco Evenepoel, who had just abandoned the race in the wake of a positive COVID-19 test. “I don’t believe it,” Hvastija told podcast hosts Toni Gruden and Slavko Jerič, offering his opinion in a way that echoed the trademark bluntness of Evenepoel’s Belgian countryfolk.

That was a beast of a stage. mad conditions. Kudos to Magnus. And Gee and de Marchi as well... they all did a fantastic job.

I sense the fallout will march on after this. It sure couldn't have helped at all

Just add water.💗

Today was such a hard day. It was one of the hardest stages I’ve done on a bike. To end up with a win is unbelievable.”

- Magnus Cort, who completes the  triple, having won a stage in every Grand Tour.

This has basically spoilt the whole Giro for me now. I’m interested in whether all those riders are actually sick or if they have been sent home just because they’re positive. I also think the teams are worried about spreading so it could be that they’re positive but not sick but they dont want to risk it spreading further. However, in saying that surely if they’re on the same team, the likelihood of everyone contracting is pretty high. Either way its just a mess and Covid does its best to mess everything up yet again.

I hope this means Remco does the Tour now.
