Not at all.
Nick and Matt’s response made me me email the correct body asking them to investigate this site.

Not sure how much sarcasm was injected here, but as @Nick has expressed there are just too many red flags on this one and we're happy to take the risk of calling this a scam outright.

Don't be too trusting of a "guy on the phone". 99% of the scams reported on Bike Hub are for a deal that's a little too good to be true, but the seller (a newbie on Bike Hub), "sounded like a lekker oke on the phone". Social engineering is all part of their game now.

Pretty much this. And every other observation posted here.

Dodge AF with stolen images and highly dubious claims. Red flags for days.

A 9.7 with a 750Wh battery and full carbon frame (nope, only the 9.8's and up have this), and for only R89k! Definitely a scam!

A few people had reported it, including the social profiles along with the local cell number for investigation. Know of at least one brand that has taken it up formally.

ISPA is super efficient. had a problem with an ISP in hard lockdown in 2020. couldnt get hold of them...even opened social media accounts to get them to come to the party. one email to ISPA and i got a phonecall, progress reports, apologies, free upgrades etc etc etc lol

If you're in contact with anyone investigating they should report to / request info from Facebook too, if this hasn't been done already. From some comments here it seems people found the site via a Facebook ad. Facebook will know who (user account) paid for the ad and the credit card used.

Could well be fake info and a stolen card and Meta might not actually reply, but worth a shot.

I reported an ad on FB that was using Takealots logo but was very clearly not even an SA scamster. FB did nothing, but at the same time also tweeted about it. About a week later one of the local news sites was reporting on it, still nothing from FB.

YIP Facebook does not do thing

They dont even have the correct options in the "reporting" link to repot scammers

The only time they're going to stop that ad is when the credit card paying for it doesn't work any more.
