Ahaha, the favourite biking engineer everyone loves to hate has a few things to say about this new model...

Haha, To his credit, calling him a bike engineer would be an insult.
He’s a well experienced mechanical/aeronautical engineer who ‘frolics’ with bike stuff on YT, and ofcourse likes to call out the BS ‘bike engineers’ and their marketing cheerleaders like to spew

he’s awesome😅

Also…watch this to get an idea of the absolute bs the bike world spews when it comes to aero.

spoiler: Obree’s 90’s washing machine bike and his odd riding position is still faster than a modern TT bike in a formula 1 wind tunnel.

I'm really trying but i cannot warm up to this. its hideous.

its like a Felt, Merida and Cervelo got freaky with Microsofts AI chatbot and created something the laws of nature is uncomfortable with. or maybe just my eyes are uncomfortable with.

that Reparto Corse on the DT - looks like a cheap Chinese brand

it has lost all its Italianess - maybe a good thing?

the Bianchi Specialisma has Italian deliciousness to it - its gorgeous.

this... eek.

Still trying to figure out what the hell is going on here. As much as I appreciate the gains, a bike needs to look the part first and foremost. This is the ugliest bike that has come out of their factory.

I can not believe that this mosquito catcher can do anything else than add drag image.png.282891c222d7eed63b57cf7f9213303a.png

Can't wait for lunch to have a listen to Hambini's opinion :D

Nice place to stash your used gels and banana peels

ps: my armchair aerodynamics from spending years on motorsport forums tells me that sometimes a hole/channel/tunnel like this is to catch a vortex or disturbed air so that the airflow around it or further downstream is less affected by said ‘dirty’ air…but again, as i’m sure hambini will go off on a tangent about it haha- the big moving fleshy mass on the the bike is where all the drag is anyway

Ludicrous looks and price. The push bike industry is worse than just about any other for overcharging for very dubious performance gains. No doubt a few CEO's will take the bait though.

At least for a R250k ebike you're getting a motor and other real hi tech bits. I learned early on that fancy road bikes get you very limited gains for the money. Especially when you're roaring along in the peleton. I rode a 11kg steel road bike with badly warped wheels to a sub three many years ago on the CTCT.
