just a question, is temperature drift a thing of the past on powermeters?

Should be a easy fix these days. Power meter's use strain guages. These are resistive based devices. Resistance changes with temp. Might also be a slight contraction or expansion on the actual crank material. But if you know the temp (measurement) and material properties you can factor it in and adjust accordingly.

Let's see what they say. I'm so far happy with the unit except that it showed 100% battery until it turned off yesterday 🤣 Now it's all charged up and working again, might not trust it too much and just recharge it every now and then, just like I recharge my Di2 before each race even if the LED is green

I did not yet get any response from the AliExpress online store, and to be honest I gave up on it and accepted the fact that it was a mistake to import directly.

Juan from Black Marlin was super helpful but understandably cant help me with a warranty claim because of the direct import.  For now I'm resigned to the fact that I wont have a power meter for a while until I can afford to buy one again, LOCALLY for sure this time.

  • 1 year later...

I bought a xcadey last year from cyclelab and took it back aswell this week as it stopped working. Cyclelab got in contact with BlackMarlin as the unit is still under warranty who told them they no longer handle the brand locally and redirected cyclelab to a chinese person via whatsapp🥲

what a mess…Black Marlin website is also down.

I would also suggest you try contact Xcadey yourself, try explain your situation and see what they say. https://xcadey.com/

Cyclelab is busy dealing with them. I bought it from them so they are handling it

To some extent. Battery performance will still vary with temperature and this will impact the readings you get so ensure you calibrate before every ride to minimise the impact.

Been a huge fan of Xcadey power meters for while now. My son has one on his Track bike, MTB, Gravel bike and 3 months back we purchased one for his road bike. Done 250km and new Power meter is kaput. I find it scary the agents selling last units out knowing they faulty. The store I purchased through the managers Xcadey also gave issues after a year and they happily pass the buck. Says he got ghosted from China contact after few WA messages. Goodluck to rest of us I say
