so somewhere in tygerberg it is then. prolly hoogies. moved on account of cape epic in the area for sure.

Maybe have it over 2 days because half the field cant do 5 stages on one day🤣. 2 stages on one day, 3 on the final day. Could be a fun experiment.

Ps: 5 stages will be a nice warmup for the funride world champs the next weekend.

Saturday for registration, Sunday Fun Day....

Erm, I’m riding the Griphon 99er, hangs head in shame… 🤦🏽‍♂️

#Metoo? Why shame? I enjoy the dynamics of road riding in groups too. Really enjoyed the winelands one last weekend. Guys were going fast all the way to the back. I did 3,5 hours starting in J! Ended up between the F’s. They were racey.

I’ve never been, guess this is the secret nr4 then. Are they that mellow that you would decide not to go? Ill have to go and explore them.

Stop being such negative nancy’s🤦🏻‍♂️

…yes this reeks of planning fallacies, getting caught with pants down (re epic) and scrambling for alternative solutions, i agree.

But if i hear the phrase ‘not enough gnar’ or XC event again i’m going to puke. Jebus…grow some like lungs ffs.
If they chose Banhoek nobody would have said ‘not enough gnar’….even though there is fokkolol there too, but its more bike-parky so thats fine?

Nee man ouens. They are trying at least. Maybe they should just stop? Where does that leave us wanting to have a jol with the format? Met in finger diep in ons hol afgebreek…dis waar.

don't stress bike hubbers make up a really really small % field of these events, there will be people there for sure... its just me and Robbie, and you very well know us to be nancy's

...the change in date is more a spanner in the works for me personally... as i don't recall ever there being a rheebokskloof enduro, so that excites somewhat... still early days too

Maybe the "gnar" enduro crowd should try Downhill racing, because enduro's don't do it for them.

"If they chose Banhoek nobody would have said ‘not enough gnar’….even though there is fokkolol there too, but its more bike-parky so thats fine?"

I think its EXACTLY that. The trails there are atleast worth it. features, jumps, drops, scenery, compact.
The jonkers Enduro Event was amazing, look at the turnout, look at the crowd that rocked up, the general atmosphere screamed excitement and fun, A+ trails and stoke levels were at an all time high. Even got to see our local heroes in action.
Compare to the last event at paarl.... not exactly the same crowd and not the same vibe.
They called it beginner friendly... there were peeps here on the hub saying "It was to attract beginners and thats exactly what it did"...lol .... we had ACTUAL beginners with us and they hated it. Too much grind for too little reward with lots of people dropping out and not completing. (DH was the exception and highlight)

Its not just supposed to be about having a stuk pair of lungs. The type of trail will motivate the push to finish and motivate a good amount of training a preparation.
I dont have anything again XC riders or Gravel riders or any riders for that matter but its not what i enjoy which is why there are those distinctive groups that enjoy different types of riding. Blurring the lines and making everything beginner friendly makes no sense. Sure i still wana be challenged fitness wise but more importantly i wana ride some exhilirating trails.
For those that enjoy the fitness and the grind more and find accomplishment in it, power to you and each to their own.
But give us good ol chunky descents with some nice big sends! for those that are not comforatble there are b lines? and instead of growing moerse lungs we can have good lungs and progressive riding

same can be said about the guys that are just super fitness orientated and happy with grinding the tamer trails... should try XC..

The point is they cant please everyone. If the format/event/location doesn't work for you for whatever reason, then move along to stuff you like doing instead. It really is that simple. It’s perfectly fine too.
As it stands i’m indifferent about all this. I just want to ride bicycles and enjoy doing it. I don't have time, nor do I care about other peoples opinions of what constitutes the ‘right’ kind riding.
who the fark cares? Just ride something..as long as it makes you happy. Again, if it doesn't - move along.

I left primary school long enough ago to not care about what is considered ‘cool’  or not. I do wtf i want. It has served me well.

the weather is a factor for me. i'll call it closer to the date. anything above 18.26C will NOT see me riding in Paarl.

But we had such fun last time plonking long? We even had some DH celebs in our company😅

XCO can be hella technical. Often more technical than most of the crowd pleasing enduro's.

Just saying. XCM is the gravel road interspersed with basic single track brigade
