Scott roy Posted May 1, 2023 Share Good day ,this morning I was very stupid. First time putting the bike rack on new car and I didn’t check the alignment with the exhaust and off we went. About 45 minutes into the drive we heard a loud pop, discovered I melted my rim and tyre. Put peed off because the wheel (DT Swiss xrc 1501) only has 2600 km on it. my question is ,do I out and out need to replace it (I suspect I do) or would cbr or someone maybe be able to repair it? RobertWhitehead Posted May 1, 2023 Share Replace, never repair carbon wheels. No matter how good the repair is it will fail under the stress of the spokes (either immediately or over time) Sportopia Cycles, Eddy Gordo, Sepia and 3 others

robbybzgo Posted May 1, 2023 Share All carbon wheels should be sold with an exhaust pipe proximity warning...in the same way a box of smokes is sold with a health warning. Fred van Vlaanderen, mecheng89, Zebra and 3 others 2
