Not to impressed with ordering from bike-addict unfortunately.

First time bike-addict buyer, place an order and paid 10 days ago, on the 8th March.

quote reply: "Please note that some items need to be ordered from our suppliers and will take 3-5 working days from receipt of Proof Of Payment to arrive to us. (proof of payment sent on the 8th march)

Once items arrive we will the forward shipping details to you."

On the 12th I send an email requesting any updates on the order.

quote reply: "Hi We are still awaiting some items from our suppliers to completely fulfil your order"

I am suprised as no indication as to when it will be received or delivered etc, the 3-5 days is almost over.

Today 18th March I decide to follow up and ask for more clarity on my order and which items might be causing the delay etc

Quote reply: "I am awaiting the ......... items which are set to arrive tomorrow morning"

Well I am glad to hear my order should be arriving soon, but I didn`t expect this online order to take almost 2 weeks to receive. For a big online retailer I am a bit suprised by their lack of communication, maybe my order for R3880 was too small.

It's their modus operandi, they've been doing it for many moons. Even the one particular lbs with their "price matching perk (for the lack of a better word)" has started to catch on and follow the price match question with: do they have stock :D

My experience with them is negative. They took my money but never delivered the goods. After a month of emailing backwards and forwards, several promises from them, they are now ignoring me altogether. Their final excuse was that the goods were stolen from the courier.

UPDATE: I have now been fully refunded.

Bought from them 3 x .

I've ordered online then call them and speak to online to confirm. Wait for email with payment details.

Once paid and money reflects they courier it or arrange with Pudo to collect it.

Find these days using Pudo app and do booking after they confirm its quite fast.

The shop is situated in Malmesbury.

Beautifully stocked. Not scammers

it is a tedious process ordering from them...so unless you are patient rather order elsewhere...

It's my LBS (200km round trip), so when I'm passing past and I need something, I drop in.

It's worth doing so, making a connection with a sales person. Perhaps use that to leverage a better service offering when dealing with Bike Addict thereafter?

The shop itself generally gets rated well.

But it seems they haven't quite managed to get the physical and online balance right.

Evobikes - Great prices and great service.

Yes, Evobikes are great. Mainly deal with Janos

With Tania in the workshop in the back of the premises doing bike rebuild/assembly  and services - winning combination.

the crux of the matter is this: i give you money, for the product you advertised, at the price you advertised it, and you give me the product in an efficient and timeous manner.

we give them far too much leash because of their advertised prices. half of what is online doesnt actually exist in their inventory. the site prices encourage a physical visit, where everything is inflated, and they act like they're doing you a solid to even consider matching the online price.
no other shop requires you to order, and then immediately follow your order up with a call (1 if you're lucky, 3 or more is normal). if you dont call, you never get your order. i understand their business model, but if they are going to carry on that way, they have to put more effort in.

When I am in Malmesbury for work or pleasure I like to take a walk through BikeAddict.

More often than not the items I wanted from their web page is NOT in store.

On the odd occasion I want something specific I phone first, check it is in stock, GET THE NAME of the person you speaking to !!  Then ask them to keep it, as I am driving through to pick it up .... all too often THIS is when they stop me and actually check if it is in stock !!!

Strange way of doing business .....

Still, when I am in the area it is nice to walk through the store.  Every so often I do spot something I want.
