Kleinbrak area. Big Dipper. The bridge crossing the river is being repaired. I could have walked through knee deep water, but was pointed to a scaffold plank by one of the workers. So on cheap MTB shoes and Spectra in hand I proceeded. My wife's often spoken words of wisdom came to mind. " Moet nou asseblief nie weer n poepol van jouself maak nie." I managed the 3 metre crossing ok.

 

Either way it's a steep climb , nice view from the top.

I recognise that top pic, there's extensive sand mining to your right. What river is that? It's not far from The Haven iirc

My bike took me around the Hopewell 50km yellow route today.There are a few spots like this with no markers and you can see tyre tracks going both ways. They seem to somehow meet up again but still confusing. Still a lekker ride with plenty single track fun.
