@Dale you missed the best riding day of the year.

Average 11 degrees.  Zero wind.

Roads got busy with cyclists after 9.00 ... they missed a stunning sunrise.

Greetings to the Marchal along Bottelary at 9.30 .... respect !!  You have a strong pair of legs ... not sure your buddies enjoyed our fun ... 😋 you had me in zone 5 for a while there 👍

Ja nee. Even some evenings recently are beautifully calm with red fire in the sky. A memory from a cool sunrise on the open plains north from my town. 💋

Forgot that Saturday, last weekend (02-Jul), was the halfway point of the year... day 182.5 (at 12 noon). Not quite as many miles compared to this time last year, but at least I'm on track for another 5-digit annual distance, and perhaps a 6-digit elevation gain total; if I continue as I have for the last 3 months.

3.5 hours of easy pedaling around the souf. A lekker morning and not too cold. No pichas

I thought I passed you guys going in the opposite direction, but strava says probably not.

I suffered with the wind on the way home, but still had a great ride out to your neck of the woods

You’re halfway through the year and about to hit my full year targets.
One day I’ll have more time to ride.

I’m probably 80-90% of my limit. Anything more and I’ll have an unhappy household.

We got to Newmarket Mall at 10:00, so it might have been one or two members you saw that went short.

You penned my thoughts ....

I will be very happy if I manage 4 000 km cycling for the year.  On track thus far.

Also aiming for 400km walking for the year.

Half way to 365-for-365.  Each day has at least a walk or a cycle event, often both.

Such a great ride at Buffelsdrift doing my first 50Km, the longest I have ridden since starting in November last year.

I've shown myself that the 4 days a week training with a Biokineticist is really paying off, when uphills are an absolute pleasure, well they were until my legs ran out of battery at the 32Km mark but I will work on Nutrition in the future to overcome this problem and the severe leg cramps for the last section.

Well done Allen.

My worst cramps were in a short event ... started way too fast.

As you practice more and more, your body adapts and with a bit of luck you wont have more cramps.

Figuring out the right nutrition helps .... very easy to over fuel ....

For longer days in the saddle also consider electrolites.

Time in the saddle will get you there 👍
