I noticed that as well - compared to previous years the scenery (apart from a few epic shots with table mountain in the background) has been a bit meh.

The riding looks great and I will definitely visit Durbanville when I make a riding trip to the Cape, though.

Another part of the decision to cut costs by keeping the route closer to Cape Town?

I think I'd have a mamil meltdown. Like a cyber cowboy with 2 guns, LekkerSlaap and booking.com Apps at the ready, credit card loaded like a silver bullet.

Every year the FOMO ratchets up.

Dunno... Reading the stories about the rave village I'm leaning towards GINT (glad I'm not there).

Mamils are soft creatures. We can do anything so long as there's a comfy spot, an ice cold something and lots of delicious food.

Outride 3min off within 8km.

Seems like Keegan is going backwards.

Imagine beer's frustration. And how k@k one feels if you're the one holding things back. Difficult dynamic to manage.

course was super sandy with heat radiating from the ground up.
camp site is on a stretch of land covered in thorns . It’s super *** aka epic.

Hou moed boet! The better part of the Epic starts tomorrow morning. Just survive today.

Beers, Swenson 8 mins back at WP2 :(

Either they are trying to have a big enough gap to try for stage wins, or setting up a massive comeback in the second half of the week...

Or the American has properly cracked.

technically the riders aren't allowed to post their rides to strava (according to the rules). Get familiar with that red flag button 🤣

I have 2 Strava friends that post their rides.🤷‍♂️
