Based on the comments on the youtube video, he might have a career making films and commentating/interviewing other riders though.

As a spectator, I get the impression that he is there for the jol/vibes/beers/videos and not for the win. Just a comment, as I have no skin in this game :)

That was a tough course and the top dogs set a killer pace.

I see Alan and Luke were over half a minute down on the winner. Should they even have been there for SA? 🙂

Alan was hovering around p10 or so until the last lap. Apparently he decided to conserve energy for the xco.

Not great, despite the bad day. Even though it’s not the worst from a rider by far. But someone in the team should take the kid to one side and have a talk.

Would also expect any administration involved in the sport to take it up directly without any petty motives. We know already the some folk lack the wherewithal to be an adult and will use forums to stick a knife in.

At 30, he is not a kid anymore. His post was in bad taste and definitely not necessary.                       The whole week we were at World Champs we did not see anyone from administration (aka CSA) offering guidance, coaching, management, or any kind of support to the riders.  It was the usual fend for yourself situation and there wasn't a "team" as such.  If CSA representatives spent some time on the ground at these international DH races they would realize how difficult it is to be competitive as a South African and a privateer.  I will be interested to see if there is any follow up from CSA on Theo's post in the days to come.
