It does NOT.

No more substitutions. At least not according to the CTCT information sent out this week.

Only way now is to give your entry and your Finish Time board to somebody .... which is "not allowed for" in the rules

Did one this morning.........🤭

Hi, sorry if this is a dumb question. I saw that there will be around 300 riders in the @ group. Is that standard? Seems like a massive peloton.

Yes , have fun.
I got bumped out of the racing category due to insufficient loyalty points and apparently PPA seeding is the pinnacle of road cycling , not a CSA racing license. So I’m going to have a fun ride from 1A

What is the best food to take with, bananas etc...or are there food feeding zones?

Depends how long you plan on taking to do the loop. If you are between winning time and 3hrs30 you are unlikely to stop for food or water. Then you carry what you will consume, usually gels, bars and nutrition drinks.

If you're taking 4hrs30 or longer, I'd take a sandwich and bananas as well as the above.

I don't actually know what is at the refreshment stations - I imagine it's coke, water and maybe sponsors sports bars?

Yes - unfortunately Cycle Tour doesn't take age cat racing seriously. Will be a massive (and dodgy) bunch till around Smitswinkel with a lot of people there that don't really belong in age cat racing.

Around Chappies the actual racing starts

Got seeded in &. I'm one of the slow 30-39 cat riders, and have 0 desire to ride there, so will ride with my wife, much more worthwhile.

Tim's Test is a fantastic idea. It makes sense to have melanoma screening here. I made an appointment and went, in and out in 10 minutes. Great experience, and highly appreciated they offer this for free

When I got there I was told it might be a 45 minute waiting period.

A while later a friend went through in 5 minutes

Certainly a good idea, and a LOT of people doing it.

The downside, other than the definite reduction in exhibitors, was the incredibly annoying shoe cleaning product sales guys that seemed to have multiple stations/locations all over and were determined to get me let them try their stuff on my shoes. By the 40th no thank you I started getting a bit twitchy.

On Friday the shoe guys were in TWO spots.

1 at the Clicks screening entrance

1 in the cross isles.

I always take some bananas and bars, as well as some not fully diluted energade to keep me going. But the water points have water, coke, energade, and energy bars. So if you don't mind the brief stops your don't need to load up too much.

The rest flew in last night 👍

Well, if their positions next to the bike in this pic MIRROR their actual positions in the race, then Lady Stoker 1 aint’ seeing ANYTHING of the 108-odd kilometers CTCT, behind that giant of a man!!! ;)
