Well done to Matt!

Strange name for a local race, it had me confused for a bit, but then I guess it's the US.

It’s the OG gravel race that started with a small group of locals in around 2008. It was called the gravel world champs as an inside joke. The name stuck.

Also unlike Unbound this “small local race” actually offers prize money to the pros that are trying to make a living out of racing.  I’ve ridden with one of the founding crew a few times. The spirit of gravel maybe dead but its origins are in Lincoln Nebraska.

I see number 10 earned more at this race than the winner of continental champs this weekend. Mist really be worlds 🙃

They would have earned less if they raced the gravel also instead of continental champs. Something is better than nothing

With a winners prize purse of $17 500, that's a healthy and deserving payday for a guy that breaks his balls day in and day out on his bike. Lekka Matt 🤙

In other news I see the recently retired WTP Romain Bardet won his first UCI gravel race in Monsterrando this past weekend.
