post a picture of the headbadge and we can tell which year

if it says prestige and its a classique model means its local made

tange 2 means probably 80s

post-118772-0-02135800-1549953297_thumb.jpgbut as DJR says some pics will help

you can ride eroica on it

Here are a couple of images, the worst of which is of the head badge. Thank you so much for your help.

This brings back good memories. I had a custom built black Peugeot with Gold stickers made for me in 1980/81. Think it was with Vitus 971 tubing but not 100% sure. Remember this blue of yours well. A mate of mine rode the same blue Peugeot. Thanks for the pics. Took me down memory lane

That looks like a great find. As mentioned above, put on some 28 c tires, give it a clean up and a service and see you at Eroica next month.

After that there will be plenty of time to fully restore it for Eroica 2020.

Came across this quick release skewer arm.

Can't find much, bar one reference to "Olimpico cursa hub" but see no skewers in the related images.

Anyone have info on this piece..?

Good day. I'm new to this thread, & on the verge of buying my first vintage bike. It's a 1985 Alpina in, what appears to be, good running order. I'm buying too ride it. My trail mtb is not great for the road work I'm currently using it for. I'm looking at paying R2500. Does that sound good?

Hi JanW and welcome to the dark side!

R2.5k sounds good, but it depends too on the components. But if they are original, probably shimano 105, or maybe even 600, it sounds like a very good price.

Good luck and post some pics.

Hi Jan

Please post some pictures of the Alpina  for us visually orientated folks. As HeyYou said, the price sounds good for a bike in good condition. I see them go from about R2500 to R4500 depending on what components and condition.
