Talking about the past. Last year a few Hubbers went on a ride during August. The ride included Sugarbush Ridge. Names that spring to mind are ianj, sonic, epoh, cervelo, et al. At that stage I weighed 106kg, after loosing 4 since the June 16 public holiday. I dropped from a size 40 pants to between a 34 and 36 (depends where I buy.)

Did it help for climbing. NO. I still suffer on climbs, but my Sugarbush short loop time has dropped from 3:15 to 2:10. Now that's nice to look at.

As Greg Lemond said, "It never get's any easier, you just go faster".

In other words, if you are not suffering on a climb, you aren't pedalling hard enough.

You are putting in the same effort and climbing much quicker, have you checked your average speeds up the climbs?

Bruce, that is so true!

Ian, yes, and it's scary and nice to see what the change was between the 2 dates. And I could keep up to you and Sonic on a flatish hill, till he became all simpel.

One will always suffer on the climbs otherwise you are not giving 100%. But seeing that improvement in your time is real motivation to loose that last bit of flabby muscle around the waist.

ya, same day that caused the Sugarbush Challenge. So ewep suffers up there, arrive at the top a couple of minutes after cervelo. Cervelo, being the concerned friend that he is "goodness , what happened, you're a bit unfit?". 'cause ewep was not looking in great condition. And what does cervelo get for being the concerned friend ? 1) a Challenge in/up SBR, "ek gaan hom breek" , jou bl**^*&....LOLLOLLOL
