  1. Put it on facebook so that I can "like" it!
  2. Si - Senjor!
  3. The Guys name is Cory - use to be with Coolheat. I dont have his nr but contact Meent on the hub - he knows him from way back when. Cheers
  4. Fox fork - service every 50 hours and it will last quite a bit. If you dont service regularly - dirt & oil builds up and makes a grinding paste that damages the coating on the legs - that is normally what goes on a fork! I normally service 2 - 3 times a year : Jan - April - July/Aug - twice in the wet season, once in the dry. Save the coating on the legs and you save your fork!!! Get a decent shock Mech to do it for you - I dont trust LBS with that. Deal with the guy face to face and your shock will go a long way. Its all about preventative maintenance - rather a R 550 service than a R 4500 new shock.
  5. Hey Nick, Are you coming to the Down & Dirty this weekend - I can drop the parts off there if you`re keen. Let me know Thanx
  6. Stans does this more than anyone else. Try BAT seal from Bicicletta : http://shop.bicicletta.co.za/pBAT001/BAT-Sealant.aspx Its thicker than Stans and seals better - IMO
  7. Contact the Sweaty Basterd on the hub - he is the agent for GUTR sweatbands. Works really well https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/106554-gutr-sweatband-feedback/page__p__1466987__hl__gutr__fromsearch__1#entry1466987 Worth the while!!!
  8. Cotic mate - Cotic!!!! Chec out thier bikes first. Did a test ride once and was very impressed!!!!!! Contact Matthew and ask "No Muppets" how his goes. I think the Soul or Soda is what you are looking for. http://cotic.co.za/
  9. True Dat!!!! Sure the Mrs will enjoy!!!
  10. They should not permit those bars but they might. The standard rule is that the bars must not extend beyond the brake lever hoods. Its a safety risk if you are too far forward because drafting is permitted. If you are on your bars and something happens - it takes too long for you to grab the brakes putting everyone else at risk. Hope that helps.
  11. I have a saddle, stem and V brakes. let me know - Im in Pta
  12. +1 on Buffelspoort There must be a better option for Tri in Gauteng! Otherwise just make all of it Xterra tyre races. Maybe move it to Bela-Bela like the 5051 or Global 11 at Sun City. There must be some other places we can swim.
  13. 5 Min - 10 min I guess. I usually changed them the night before and went riding the next day. It is a hassle though! But worth it!
  14. Take out the red and you got yourself a stead!
  15. They are removable - taken mine off 4 or five times in the last year. I will admit - they are not the easiest to get off but it can be done. Then again - met geweld kan jy jou finger in jou gat ook afbreek! Digg those grips - no more numb hands even without gloves!
  16. News to me - but would be keen to check it out.
  17. I dont like the look of the Horst link - that being said I have never ridden it so I can not comment on its performance. The frame looks a bit odd - maybe its just the color cause the black linkage looks the tits! Should be a fun bike to ride - if only they made it in black on black with mat-black decals!!!
  18. Hey Knobby, Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Here is my take: Running is an implosive action vs cycling which is a cyclical motion. Running is much harder on the body as oppose to cycling as the body has to propel itself forward and brace and absorb the shock of every stride. It works diff muscle groups than cycling but requires more energy and more efficient breathing. Running will help your cycling much more that the other way around - I found that I could ride a stronger pace up a drag & climb after a solid running season. I would recommend starting off easy with the run - 30min is enough at first to get the body use to the new motion. Work up to 1h15 is you can - around 75% of max HR is enough. Enjoy your run!!!! Allow for enough recovery. Try trail running as its close to MTB. When its time to get back on the bike you will prob feel stronger than before stamina wise. See you out there soon mate.
  19. After donating take a 3 day brake or do low HR recovery only!
  20. Copper paste is your friend!!!! Helps glide the bearing in smoothly as well as taking it out later if you need. 3 tubs you should always have close - Deep heat, Lube, Copper paste! Foot note - they are NOT interchangeable!
  21. Got a mate who rides a Lynskey - he wouldnt trade it for 4 Scott`s. I guess that says it!
  22. At the time they could only cut normal thread - not reverse threat. Also - traditionally you "mount" - I see whats going to happen here - from the left. Those 2 reasons led to the drive train being on the right. No bull***t!
  23. There is only one man to contact for this - Ruan Deysel - Spokeworks. He is the agent for Sram in Gauteng but comes from a shock servicing back-round. He does Fox & Rock Shox - good guy that knows what he is doing. He is just off Rossouw st off-ramp on N4. SRAM Tech Centre info AT sramtechcentre DOT co DOT za
