**** started before Covid with "professional" race organizers "taking over" events from cycling clubs.
Is Germiston Wheels the only club left with their own race?
Q365 submitted application for Pro team, no submission for Qhubeka.

Or no offer on the table in which case it’s understandable.
Difficult to understand why Matt Beers is not on a World Tour team.

To have top pro bike racers taking on top pro bike racers for a rainbow jersey?
Or should we protect the IG gravel stars and uphold 'the spirit of gravel' and make it less competitive?
No one complains when Pidcock switches codes or when MvdP hops around. I would love to see all the top guys duking it out on whatever bikes they choose for the jersey.
It would be awesome to see a guy like Nino there, Sam Gaze etc...
I DO agree with 'Dale though, it should be longer. Like 250km at least. I always thought longerer and longerer was the ultimate gravel
Agree on the distance, was thinking about Unbound at 200 miles.
Summary of rules - no suspension, drop bars and tyres limited to 43.

Course too easy. Pros riding around on road bikes with bigger tyres. Don’t need massive climbs but surely 800m over that distance is not going to test these riders?

a few years ago, on every Wednesday evening, there would be a XCO like event in Delta Park (JHB).
We would race on a 2km loop in just one hour and try to accumulate as many laps as possible.
It was the perfect after work activity with a great crowd.
Does anybody know if these events, or any of that kind, still exist.
Please let me know.

Found memories. Jules on his SS usually the winner.

Sure he was 38 but AvV was 39. Amazing, age is but a number. U23 is a waste of time, should introduce U30 esp for ladies to give others a chance. 😁
Remco should be arrested for the abuse he dished out to the pro peloton

I think the the ebike community would complain about that the same way we complain about ebikes
🤪 I'll stick to speed limit

And this is at the core of the gripes in this thread.
It seems impossible to set an ebike to auto load as an ebike activity type.
Two of my three bikes are ebikes ... so the vast majority of my rides must be manually updated .... not very efficient from our friends at Strava.
Garmin 530 or higher. Create Ebike profile and select when riding ebike. Uploads as ebike ride.
I've started logging Vespa rides as ebike.
All about Remco but Ayuso will be the next superstar!

Ebikes only see ebike segments, not regular segments. Let them see regular segments but mark their rides as ebikes.
Strava should make segments available to ebikers, then there is no excuse.

Can get lucky and race again when season starts next year, all depends I suppose.

Notifications are often before to the athlete then public. The athlete has a period to request a B sample. More times than not, they run this to the 12th hour for obvious reasons
Fluck is in a tough position here.
Admit guilt, no B sample and take your chances or positive B sample and longer sanction. Not exactly a youngster.

hope it does not.. because im sure they all work hard to be there and have to give the benefit of the doubt to the rider... but IF it comes back positive....... then we will have to see what the UCI will do...
Difficult to see how the B sample will be negative

yes the guy has been impressive consistently and that where I smell smoke. All that hocus pocus training on balance boards and juggling giving him the edge is lovely. I don’t know what he’s really doing but being at the very top of your game for 15years In a highly anaerobic sport just seems ….fishy <flame suit on>
The last thing I’ll say for the people that don’t believe in cycling, the cynics and the sceptics, I’m sorry for you. I’m sorry you can’t dream big and I’m sorry you don’t believe in miracles...
Finally the racing can start after the borefest in Utrecht. There's enough interesting riding in Spain, no need to trek halfway across Europe.
