  1. I'm also trying to figure it out, looks like it is a "normal" dropout on the non-drive side. You would then be able to remove the wheel with thru-axle in place once the thread is out of the other side.

not an engineer and dont fully understand all this rear suspension wizardry but I do have one question that puzzles me.

Whats with the hybrid thru axle dropout???

is that a sacrifice is stifness to ensure quicker wheel changes? Will 99% of buyers care about a few second faster wheel change in sacrifice for stiffness?

Maybe I am misunderstanding...someone explain it to me in a dumb down version please.

  2. I collected my Kickr Core on Saturday, it might have been in stock at CWC when the lockdown started.

    Did anyone order Wahoo IDTs?

I'm wondering if CL are shipping them out yet. Mine broke so I'm waiting on a replacement and before I try get hold of them its easy to do a quick check in here...

  3. I'm with you on the hardcore hardtail but that build is maybe a bit "too much" for for that type of bike. Personally I wouldn't go much higher that XT/GX for a bike like that, but that is just me. And a steel frame as well, something like Stanton or Cotic.

I'd rather have the Chameleon   but that's just me. I have a thing for hardcore hardtails. They are just more special and have more character (for me anyway). Dual suspension bikes just feel like they serve a purpose and that's that....

That Mobu is pretty sweet though....

  4. I did get a quick response by using "Contact us" on the website. I think most stores are swamped with emails for issues that is normally just resolved via phone calls or walk-in. It does seem like there is a bit more normality today and more stores/companies is opening up again.

R400 to courier my Kick Core once it is legal to do so...

What I will add is that they are not the only ones seemingly reluctant to respond to comms.
I've mailed at least 5 stores about different things and none have responded. (after a week in some cases), while many of their sites are appealing for support of local business. :(

  5. Thanks, I'll have to keep waiting till logic starts prevailing again.

It's a pity that law-abiding businesses are suffering and those willing to "bend the rules" start operating.

Looking at the notice on their website this morning there are going to be a lot of unhappy people who were hoping their orders would start trickling through... Sorry everyone  :(

  6. Is it really going to be R100k for a frame? I’m considering a Hyrax, 140mm bike is a bit more for me.

If I win the lotto, this is on my list! But at R100k for a frame, I would have to sell a kidney. Looks great and love the concept though. Also, how can you beat this proudly South African initiative from Pyga.

  7. That Magene is more expensive than the Kick Core in the DC Rainmaker review and it would have less support in a place like South Africa. Why would you buy it then?

Sort of off topic but somewhat related. Chinese products (eg. cars) are becoming better and more expensive. It used to be cheaper option but I think most consumers would still rather pay a 5-10% premium for a more well known brand than a newer Chinese or even Indian one. It will be interesting to see what long term effects of this virus has on manufacturing as it sounds like lots of countries/companies are trying to bring back manufacturing.
