6am Coffee ride.
9 hours ago, no calves said:Most probably why he pulled out with a concussion. He tried to keep up with her and ran out of talent on singletrack I presume.
I also recall her riding the same times as the leading woman on days, and that was starting in normal batches due to her being a solo rider. So she was just on another level last year.
This is why I take everything that Nate says with a grain of salt. As the CEO of TR he should leave the talking to the pro's and coaches. I don't dislike the the guy, but I don't think his voice adds any value to the talks.
When Nate Pearson from TrainerRoad entered the Epic with Sofia Gomez Villafane as his partner in 2021, he was way out of his depth.
There is no way he could ever have matched her on a technical level.
What is the point?
I use Elite Smart Rollers. One of the huge benefits is that it forces you activate your core and improve your pedal stroke.
This is the same as clipping your bike into a conventional Kickr.
Once I switched to full rollers my pedal stroke improved dramatically.
1X Teaspoon Salt
2X Tablespoon Maple Syrup
650ml Water
Getting in some final rides before the snow comes.

Pic is of my buddy. He ordered them from bikeinn.com
Annual service, road bike.
Bike stripped cleaned and re-assembled.
New chain, tyres, brake pads, cables and bar tape.
Cassettes and chainrings last about 3-4 years.
New wheels every 4-5 years.
I just replaced my old Deda cockpit that lasted well over 10 years.
Merino Baselayer and Castelli Gabba will get through anything.
In Canada
14C and up - Short sleeves + Shorts (Arm warmers if it's early morning)
10C to 14C - Long Sleeves (Castelli Spring Jacket) + Shorts
5C to 10C - Base layer + Long Sleeves + Tights ( I don't like leg warmers)
0C to 5C - Base Layer + Winter Jacket (Castelli Espresso 2) + Tights
-10C to 0C - Base layer x2 - Winter Jacket (Castelli Espresso 2) + Tights x2 (Second bib no chamois)
I had my fair share of DP and Pundu!
