Problem is that LH44 went purple in sector 2 before backing off. Think Merc have more pace than they showed in FP1. Hope I am completely wrong though.

Anyone care to explain how Merc is able to use their high downforce Monaco wing yet are still faster by a good 10-15kmh???

I seriously don't get it , but have a feeling they're hiding the key to it very well

Suppose the question is whether that "key" is legal or not. Seems the general consensus is that its around the rear wing deflecting at speed. Something not able to be checked in scrutineering.

This weekend thought me , that after 3 decades of watching I know absolutely nothing about F1. Guess i should stick to my day job and just enjoy the show instead of trying to figure out the inner workings of the crazy world of F1

Even Adrian Newey is running around scratching his head.... ????????‍♂️
Good on the Merc team, they endured a difficult period earlier in the season when RBR were blitzing them for speed... and RBR fans were rubbing their grubby paws in glee!!

Definitely been a better year, better than the last few yes.
RBR getting off to a flier, then a slump in the middle (when Newey was away) and now with Merc fighting back. Amazing to see the difference one engineer (Newey) makes, sorting out setup issues in Mexico almost immediately on getting back.
Merc is being hurt by Bottas's inconsistency I think, good thing their car is quick and they don't need strategy as much.

I feel for Botha’s. I believe the team let him down yesterday, as much as it may be easy to say that the unknown elements of track played a part in his puncture, they had sufficient reason to have pitted him earlier. Instead, they had all eyes on their other car...

Merc are shooting themselves in the foot by taking their eye off Bottas. It may hurt them in the Constructors’ Championship.
