That's the thing. It's not unimportant.

Everyone is bemoaning the state of the world, climate change, etc., but so few have the balls to put their money where there mouth is and start contributing to change.

You need to take a tablet and calm down.....there are many more important things than the rate of defection from veganism.

Absolute fuckin bull****.

How easy for people it is to believe anything that they read on FB. Don't spread fake news, dude. It's not cool.

And yes, I am triggered. Veganism is part of my core values system. I won't take someone talking **** lying down. To my knowledge there have not been any comprehensive studies on vegan/vegetarian* recidivism.

*Vegetarianism is not an ethical stance. Thus, recidivism, if you can call it that, would possibly be higher than those who are vegan. IMO.

Veganism/vegetarianism/reduced meat intake is a very hard point to debate against.

The problem is that vegans are so militant about it, no one actually reads the facts.

So chill out, you're right. people just won'y take it that way. We've all seen this movie before.

but more importantly...get this vegan defense crap off this THREAD

*breathes out deeply*

I admit - I posted in anger. Was still fuming from work-related ***.

I'll let this be my last post in this thread, on this topic.

Veganism is a rising tide and one of the largest social justice movements in recent years and will continue as such for the foreseaable future. It threatens the income of those who make their money off of animal cruelty - such persons and organisations will obviously try to delegitimatize veganism and spin negative narratives such as vegans being militant. Groups such as the ALF represent a fraction of the vegan community.

At the end of the day, veganism is a call to action - to take action against animal and human cruelty, environmental destruction and speciecism.

Oh one last thing

STOP with the attempt at emotional blackmail..

it doesn't work.. it doesn't endure you to people you are trying to reach, and its really something best left in the pre-primary play ground.

California Passes First U.S. Ban on Animal-Tested Cosmetics

California Governor Jerry Brown signed a first-of-its-kind law banning the sale of animal tested cosmetics Friday, the Huffington Post reported.

"We are grateful to Governor Brown for signing this bill," California state director for the Humane Society of the United States Crystal Moreland said in a press release. "I am proud that California is the first state in the nation to take a stand against cruel cosmetic animal testing."

The California Cruelty-Free Cosmetics Act, which was written by Democratic state Senator Cathleen Galgiani, passed the state legislature earlier in September, The Hill reported. It stipulates that manufacturers cannot "import for profit, sell or offer for sale" any cosmetics tested on animals once the law goes into effect Jan. 1, 2020.

Violations will be punished with a fine of $5,000, followed by a fine of $1,000 per day every day the violation continues, the Huffington Post reported.

It is the first law of its kind in the U.S., though similar laws have been passed in the EU, India, Israel and Norway. A national law introduced to Congress last year has not yet been passed, though animal advocates hope California's law might change that.

"We're hopeful this law will encourage the federal government to pass the Humane Cosmetics Act," program manager for animal research issues at the Humane Society of the United States Vicki Katrinak told the Huffington Post.
