anyone who plans on bringing a child into the world right now is downright mental. 9 months from now we will still be suffering with this virus, never mind the additional burden on healthcare but the risk to the child is great

 

If you really want kids, wait for the world to settle down and then start trying. Now is not the time.

My wife is 5 months along now. It's a crap situation. I am not allowed to go with to scans at the moment. Dad's are not allowed to be present for the birth (in public healthcare) - I'm sure this is not the case in private, and won't be when our kid is due.

 

And then there are the concerns of what happens once the kiddo is here... it's not ideal.

 

Luckily it seems that newborns and young kids are not doing badly in terms of CV.

 

But anyway, I agree - now is not an ideal time to be trying. If you can, wait a couple months and reassess.
