Proteas dont seem too upset with the loss.

Lots of smiles after the game.

That is actually disgraceful....surely they weren't smiling. Edited by Gen

If you were at Headingley for the Donald/Klusener runout you were probably watching it on the tv, as that game was played at Edgbaston. The Gibbs drop was at Headingley.

What game were you watching?

Yes i am grumpy. Grumpy that we are also-rans in this world cup.

[leaves room, kicking the dogs and smashing the furniture]

Not saying it's impossible - just improbable from here. Just can't see our batting or bowling lineup in their current respective forms making inroads into any quality side.

There were so many times when we seriously just deserved a bit of luck to come out on top (1992 DWL fiasco, 1999 vs Aus with the Gibbs dropped catch and the Klusener / Donald run-out - I was at Headingly for that game). I just don't think that our current lineup / form makes a great argument...

Would love to be proved wrong, though...

sure in hindsight and with the benefit of technology we should have reviewed this one.

BUT I don't think you could hear it with the naked ear(if that is a thing).

Tahir appeals quicker than Oscar pistorious, so if it really was obvious then they would have gone for it. (you only get 1 review in ODIs, so you can't just speculate with them))

Batting at 4 runs to the over for 2/3 of the innings is what they should be reviewing. Even if we had put 20 more runs in the board I think NZ would have still won. They batted very comfortably compared to us

For everyone feeling very NEGATIVE around the proteas, here's a good starting point.

England's miserable World Cup Lost to Australia by 111 runs, Melbourne Lost to New Zealand by eight wickets, Wellington Beat Scotland by 119 runs, Christchurch Lost to Sri Lanka by nine wickets, Wellington Lost to Bangladesh by 15 runs, Adelaide v Afghanistan, Sydney, 20 March

England's World Cup record since 1992 1996: Quarter-finals 2007: Fifth 1999: Group stage 2011: Quarter-finals 2003: Group stage 2015: Group stage

exactly...they were too scared to take risks upfront.

I can't believe Amla was selected for this game, he is so out of touch and it's actually better if he gets out early rather than waste so many balls. They've been incredibly lucky that Chris morris has come good this tournament, he was never in the plans to be playing here.

also suprising that Kane Williamson got MoTM, clearly de Grandhomme with his 33/1 dibbly dobblies and 60 off 47 was a bigger factor.

Money is in the bank already, they don't care what the result is. Bring in 1 match contracts!!!!! Play each game like your spot in the side is hanging on it.

Agreed Amla should have been dropped but he wasn't. He doesn't pick himself.

Cant agree that he rather get out early. The runs he scored were definitely better than no runs scored. Out batting lineup is extremely fragile. Yes he wasted a lot of balls but so did markram, miller and rassie even with the latter blasting a few boundaries later in their innings. Way too many dot balls over the 49 overs.

Williamson knock was a masterclass! As long as he battered thru, they were winning. He was always in control.  If he was gone cheaply, i think we would have bowled them out.

I think the best possible solution for South African Cricket as a whole would be if we do not win another game the rest of the world cup.

It will then require the powers-that-be to have deep introspection into what is going on in our cricket instead of the gobblewash we will hear if we "finish strong"

Ain't gonna happen. The power-that-be are there only to serve their own agendas and line their pockets. We've seen this in other sports as well. Everyone know WP rugby and SARU is a mess, yet we only see the coaching staff getting the axe. CSA is no different.
