Or in Jhb - just leave the filter out.... - my Super Auto my wife uses has about 8000 cups through it - no filter ever - but it does get cleaned and descaled as per the machines somewhat feminine wiles...

You could also try the Saeco shop in Rosebank - this might actually be in Parktown North - it's on Jan Smuts avenue. http://www.italianlifestyle.co.za/ is their site

You're the man, V12! I just phone them and they have them for R320. Much better. Thanks mate!

Tap water does not contain uric acid.... which kidney stones are made of... drinking more water reduces the risk of stones

if you do have a small stone , what can be done to get rid of it "naturally"

Medication to dislodge and dissolve. Passing a kidney stone is k@k sore I don't recommend it.

Visit a competent urologist for a proper assesment of it - and see if he can perhaps break it up using ultrasound - the tech term is Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy - but it can be painful and is often done under general anesthesia - not all urologists have access to this kind of equipment.

You could also take Alpha blockers to relax the ureter etc and help pass the stone - not very natural :) and needs professional care.

The other treatment I know exist is using potassium citrate to dissolve the stone - but I can't advise you on this (don't know much about it) - but again - your urologist should be able to give you the correct guidance.

V12man rocks, schooling people in more ways than one.

How are your (coffee) machines treating you?

Deal with what will kill you fastest first...

And that's unlikely to be a small stone... much more likely to be a lack of decent coffee....

Ok, so I have one of these awesome things - Coffee Machines...

Fairly standard entry level machine though... DéLonghi Caffé Corso. Couple years old.

So this last week it got the yips... everything works, but the the water, after heating doesn't come out the spouts.... doesn't even get to to the coffee grinds... just trickles down the sides of the inside of the machine. Spent about 8 hours past weekend taking it apart as far as I could, cleaned everything I can, no joy.

So few questions:

1. Anyone have any experience with this machine?

2. There anywhere I can take the machine to have it checked out?

3. Am I wasting my time/money/effort? Just get new one? (this is not good option, there is other priorities... like N+1....)

Thanks
