If you could give me the critical measurements that would work best I would be happy to machine one up for you to test. Most of the online stuff talks about 1mm clearance between tamper and basket with a 1mm radius on the edge.

Will measure up as soon as I can get close to the basket ???? - crazy busy weekend - play chess comp today and tomorrow and racing tomorrow.

In the market for a good quality but simple espresso machine without the milk frother. I currently use a Bodum plunger and a Bialetti milk frother/warmer.

For Cape Town coffee lovers, head down to Rosetta roastery at the Woodstock Exchange.

http://www.rosettaroastery.com/

They make a beautiful cup 'o joe and the beans are first class. They are also very passionate about coffee and do tastings for the enthusiast. If you are not able to go there, you can order beans for delivery within the Cape town Area.

There is plenty bike parking if you want to cycle through and don't forget to check out Starling&Hero Bicycle Cafe.

I forgot to mention the service is very good. Lee is great. I often follow her recommendations. My personal favourite is the Ethiopian Harrar bean. Give it a go

How much is shipping?

I can't see that without registering

I'm looking at the Bialetti milk frother - are you happy with it?

I would be using it with a Bodum and V60 pour over.

Thats sort of average price for a doser mini at the moment. Keep looking, you'll get a bargain!

Try find a doserless version though, the doser is messy and retains a lot of grinds, you can see the brush in my pic, gotta brush it all out every time!

I went for a doser grinder before knowing too much about the advantages/disadvantages of each - and I have to say, I wish went for the doserless version. You end up wasting alot of coffee with a doser. It's nice if you are making 10 coffees in a row because you can grinf once and dose as needed, but if you are like most people and make one or two cups at a time you end up grinding a little too much, which then must be thrown away, and the grounds holder cleaned very often as grounds get stuck in every little corner or crevice.

In my opinion a doser grinder is great for café or other high volume applications, and a doserless great for home/low volume use.

I've heard that term but what exactly is doser vs doserless?

Doser grinder = Coffee is ground and dispensed into a container with segments. To get the coffee into your portafilter you pull a lever which dispenses about 7-8 grams of grounds at a time.

Doserless grinder = Coffee is ground and dispensed directly into the portafilter.

The grinder on the left is a doser grinder, the one on the right is doserless.
