At least I'm getting stronger then?

Will definitely do another test. My current FTP was taken from a 1h Criterium a long while ago, but then got injured and didnt adjust it down.

I use both HR and W when testing / training

300w @ 140bpm, then a few weeks later 300W @ 135bpm I kinow its time for a retest. I test every 2 weeks. Testing is training!!!

Would be interesting to have JV' 380watts for that first hour translated to a percentage, NO?

Alternatively watts/kg????

Jens is probably between 70 to 75kg?? That would make it around 5W/kg for that first hour. Not many Vets that can do that.

1.89m & 76kg

5w/kg on the dot

That's quite good! What is your maximum heart rate if I may ask?

that was jus an example

I am currently FTP of 360W @ 85Kg max HR of 171fighting weight is closer to 80kg

I only do quality on my homemade indoor trainer, ride indoors 3x per week road Sat and Sun. Sat is Benoni world champs 2hrs....Sun steady threshold ride 2 hrs

My Blood lactate threshold is 147, so I only ride at either warm up/cool down pace or at threshold.

Sessions are 2x20min / 2x30min / 4x10min / 1 x 60min big gear intervals. All sessions only 60min

I do block training, so Sat & Sun hard, Mon off, Tue,Wed&Thur hard, Fri off rinse repeat.....

A little training experiment on myself, been going strong for 4 months now.

How much training time is on the IDT

Don't think it's that good for you hey, like a spinning bike, for long periods of training.

Nothing like your machine on the tarmac

andy' is referring to Jens's power data sometime during the TdF when he was in the break

(if I'm not mistaken)

Yes, I was replying to Bianchisti and Boesman who questioned his weight.

Nibali has been climbing for 30-40 minutes at 6 - 6.2w/kg which is close to what they believe is possible. 6.5 and over points to doping or something else. Lots of caveats of course.
