Admittedly it IS Lance Armstrong we are talking about and I, for one, am not too confident that we'll ever get THE truth out of him. Just the parts that don't make him look like a self serving Richard.

Look he's a narcissist. 

His truth is still worth hearing. Forget about THE truth. The players in this saga have all told THEIR truth except the UCI, WADA and USADA. The USA is the only country that seems to raise the best athletes who are mostly saints consistently.

So has anyone watched the ESPN 30for30 documentary "Lance".

 

Watched it on DSTV catchup (not mych cycling related material on the dish lately). Quite an interesting take on Lance rider, Lance the Brand, Lance the family man and the public view on Lance the Cancer Survivor.

Was quite interesting to see him so moved by the  space Ullrich finds himself in today. Clearly there is bitterness in the way Pantani, Ullrich, himself and others were thrown under the bus for what was essentially a systemic problem that is likely still with us today. I wonder if the 2020 TdF is going to be faster than 2019  as 2019 was faster than 2018....

I didn't buy it. I think he's a narcissist and master manipulator who surrounds himself with people who don't challenge him. As soon as somebody does, they move very quickly into his vengeance crosshairs. That's not to say he isn't a badass and gifted athlete. 

 

On the other hand, the more I listen to Floyd Landis, the more I like him. He made a few pretty bad decisions and at the time when he decided to tell-all, it really just seemed like it was coming from a bitter liar/cheat. But from that moment onward it seems like he decided to tell things exactly as they are. He's intelligent, insightful and has the guts to give his opinions about things pretty bluntly. A lot of other guys still seem to be picking their words carefully, like they are still scared of LA.
