was he wearing Assos kit, different colour every day? cause a quick google search brought me to that dude he eventually had to withdraw.

No idea - never saw him again during the ride - but I do know his bike was rebuilt overnight to a new frame and he started day 1.

Link the site - I vaguely remember the bike, so can tell if it's the same chap

I suppose we can always merge this with the "anyone cracked their specialized frame yet" , hahaha. But it will be interesting to see the stats of how these Chinese frames are holding up.

Beats me as well.... That's the main reason stopping me from buying one.

There are a couple of youtube vids showing that ....

I dont like the "YET" in the heading. Does it mean they will all eventually crack? Mine is going strong and I show it no mercy.

In all fairness, how many brand name frames have failed as well? There's ton's of posts of guys breaking frames, i know of a Bianci that's had a carbon repair done on it. I haven't broken a frame yet ;)

Cannondale, GT, Giant, Specialized, Scott

Idea of a poll:

I broke my carbon frame & it was a:

NNB Chinese frame

Cannondale

GT

Giant

Specialized

Scott

Yeti

Santa Cruz

Etc

a better assessment would take into account things like distance ridden, time to crack, location of crack, rider weight.

anything can crack, even brand names, so maybe some more context will provide better perspective, otherwise it's a rather silly generalisation.

Remember the thread about the weak bottom bracket sections on Cervelo frames before the big crash? Yeah... I do. Put me off the Canadian frames for life.

I still really want a Chinese frame.

May have wheels sooner than I think!
