GrahamS2 Posted August 30, 2017 Share For the guys with office jobs, is this something you mention to your superiors, or do you feel the need to find their opinions or not really? It all depends on the industry you work in and the nature of your job. If you're client facing and work in a formal industry (investment banking, for example), getting something done on your neck or face is going to affect your career. If you agree with that or not is another story, but it will affect your job prospects. Long Wheel Base, Jurgens Smit and Hairy

Red Robin Posted August 30, 2017 Share Theoretically it doesn't matter as it should have no bearing upon your career as it does not affect your performance but that's in an ideal world. Truth is that in some careers it will be an issue. Jurgens Smit
Fruity Posted August 30, 2017 Share I want to get this as a tattoo, on my right arm. It will be my first tat. It's one of the logos from the Legend of Zelda video games series. pe3nguin
Jurgens Smit Posted August 30, 2017 Share I work as a network engineer, so 0.1% chance of going onsite to customers. The design I'm doing is a full sleeve so at most all that will ever be seen is the forearm bit. And it isn't any death, skulls or weird ****(the forearm at least) But once I'm happy with the final design, I'll have a chat with the head of our department and see what they say. Napalm Posted August 30, 2017 Share With a full sleeve you always have the option to wear a long sleeve shirt if it really is an issue I've met a lot of network engineers in my 20 years. Most companies are just happy if they're wearing pants most of the time. Pants Boy, Jurgens Smit, Ed-Zulu and 3 others
Pants Boy Posted August 30, 2017 Share I've met a lot of network engineers in my 20 years. Most companies are just happy if they're wearing pants most of the time.I had a boss in Cape Town, fantastic chap, that co-paid for any visible piercing or tattoos for his programmers and IT support okies - his reasoning (in 2000) was that he can charge more for the guys that look 'weird'. He did, and clients paid. No questions asked Amberdrake and Gen

Jurgens Smit Posted August 30, 2017 Share Who can I chat to that can do very high detail work as well as watercolors, in Gauteng. I'm looking for the best here so don't mind dropping a few grand on my piece of art.

It's one of the logos from the Legend of Zelda video games series. The girlfriend has the Triforce on her wrist. Great tattoo choice. She is German and sees the Federal Eagle in your tattoo choice but zero Nazi imagery. Take from that what you will. I only see Hyrule buddy. Love it. And now she wants to have the rest of the design added to her wrist. Good going! [Edit]: A handful of Germans in her office agree that they see nothing resembling Nazi affiliations. It is a firm of gamers so they obviously aware of the origin of this tattoo idea. Edited August 30, 2017 by pe3nguin Stretched@Birth

I'll maybe have it done as a temporary as V12man suggested and see from there. Bateleur1 Posted August 30, 2017 Share People are sometimes very ignorant about Nazi flags and imagery.  My father-in-law had an old German Empire flag on his trailer.  Nothing to do with Nazis.  One day some oak saw it in the parking lot and went balistic about him being pro-Nazi.   pe3nguin and Long Wheel Base
IceCreamMan Posted August 30, 2017 Share For the guys with office jobs, is this something you mention to your superiors, or do you feel the need to find their opinions or not really?Superiors, wtf is that? An no, ink is personal and no need to mention to anyone.  I work in a professional capacity, people are always puzzled when they see I have tattoos as it's out of kilter with what. I do. Having said that my tats are hidden for the most part. Yes, tats could affect yr career. Some ppl still think they anti social and the domain of the low class.
