Hi guys,

So been using White Lightning lube for a long time now however its now R 140 last night when I bought... granted it lasts fairly long its just crazy price for lube?

Use to use Squirt before white lightning but its too thick as well as the fine dust in the cane fields it turns into paste that chows you components. . . .

Keen to hear your thoughts...

Go buy a tin of chain lube/wax from your local engineering shop or motorcycle dealer. a WHOLE lot cheaper than bicycle lube.

Otherwise 5lt GTX. Should lube you up for a while.

Apparently ATF fluid is good (automatic transmission fluid) synthetic if possible, around R50 for 500ml.

I'm trying that next, castrol synthetic manual gearbox oil works well, a bit thick though but stays on and does the job, I may try thin it a bit with magnatec 5W.

thats cause you dont use it PROPERLY!!!!!

you CANT lube and go ride, it never worked that way, with any lube.

you need to lube the night before

Engine oil works for me and I have been using it for years. Just lube properly and wipe off. And as Redlight said, do it long before you ride.

The white lightning clean ride version is useless for dusty rides. Dunno if anyone else has noted this

+1

Tried it last winter.... not great for jhb winters.

Currently using finish line ceramic. Perfect for your road bike if you don't mind a black (not gunky) chain. And working well on the mtb too.

Purple Extreme, must apply the previous day and wipe of excess, the key is really the night before bit with any lube.
